adventure with dogs

so i mentioned in my last post that i was visiting a friend. she has a dog and her brother also has one. my friend's dog is a cross of a cocker spaniel and a miniature poodle (so he's a cockapoo?). his name is jali and he's pretty much the same age as my dog, ira (a little over one year old). my friend's brother's dog is a cross of finnish lapphund, finnish spitz and welsh springer spaniel. she's named bella and she's about six months old.

we went for a walk with the dogs through this little forest to a small lake near my friend's house. we let the dogs free and they obeyed very well and didn't go too far. when we were at the lake, some other people came and they had a dog with them. we managed to get bella on a leash but jali wasn't as willing to let us catch him. when he noticed the other dog he ran right to it but my friend got a hold of him before anything too serious happened. when the others were out of sight, we let the dogs free again. everything went well... until we had to leave, that is. again, bella was very cooperative. however, we probably spent another hour trying to get jali on a leash.

that's a bit too big of a stick for you, jali.
