dance

so here in finland we have a dance in college. i guess in america it would be called prom but it's not quite the same thing. first of all, only the second graders of college get to dance and if they don't want to, they don't have to. they practice dancing a lot at school and get dresses and suits and get their hair and makeup done. then on the big day, their families and friends, along with other students, can come watch them dance. it's not a party with drinks and disco music. they have a choreography including waltz and tango. anyway, i was there this friday because i had to take pictures for the newspaper. so i got to see my friends dance, which was nice! here are some pictures i took.

this light blue dress was absolutely gorgeous. unfortunately, i can't use a camera properly and can't edit, so in this picture it looks different from what it actually looked like.
