what am i doing?

i really should start planning these posts earlier... i have nothing interesting to tell you about my week, but i'm just gonna make a little update about what's going on.

so at the moment i'm working at the local newspaper. i started in december and for now, i'm going to be working there until the end of march. i want to try and get into a school next fall. my friend is also trying to get into the same school, so that's cool. the school we are trying to get into would make us zoo-keepers or something like that.

the reason i'm working and not at school is because i started this finnish version of college but i was not feeling very well at the time so i couldn't make it. i needed to get money for travelling and i found the job. now that i have money and am continuing to get it, i'm supposed to go to italy and see my online friend this spring/summer.

i'm proud of myself for getting money and actually having my life in order... kind of. although, i wish i would've been able to continue at college, because i know i'm smart enough to do well in there. i just felt extremely uncomfortable at school at the time (and probably still do) and i lost all interest in studying. i had been a good straight "a" student from first grade to eighth or ninth grade. i suppose i just got tired. and now i don't want to go back to college because all my friends would be years ahead of me and i would feel embarrassed and just generally bad for being in the same grade with people younger than me. i know there's really nothing embarrassing about that, but i'm still not comfortable with the idea. at all.

besides, right now i feel like i want to work with animals in the future, so the school i'm now trying to get into would be a better place than college in that sense.

so that's what's going on in my life. i know this post is different than what i've done so far, but i want to actually write about my life sometimes. when something interesting happens, i'll probably write about it. this wasn't so interesting, but at least now you know what kind of life i'm living right now.

bucket list

i was supposed to write today's post about my week but nothing interesting happened so i'm gonna have to write about something else... have you heard about bucket lists? i have a long list of things i want to do before i die. here are some of them:

i love this idea and wanted to do one myself right away! so let's get started!

animals. i love all kinds of animals and i'm dreaming of working with animals in the future.

beatles. i fell in love with this band about two years ago, i think. they have this weird effect to make me feel better when i'm down, and i've found out that i'm not the only one to feel that way. they have helped me through hard times and i love them for that.

crazy. i love crazy people who don't give a fuck about what others think of them. i'm also very interested in mental illnesses and so-called "madness". i love fictional characters who are mad or crazy in any way, and they often end up being my favourite characters.

drawing. i've been drawing as long as i can remember. i've always loved it and i've made little comics all through my life too.

english. i'm rather good at foreign languages that i've studied. my mum is quite good at languages and it has passed on to me and my brother. i use english a lot, mostly on the internet.

friends. over the last year friends have become more important to me. i love my friends and like spending time with them.

gifs. i love watching gifs over and over again and i have probably hundreds of them saved to my computer.

humour. i have a pretty weird taste in humour and i love finding people who share that with me. funny people are some of the greatest people you can meet.

ira. i have a dog named ira, and i love her so much. i'll make a post dedicated only to her in the future.

jenna marbles. one of my favourite youtubers. she is funny and extremely straightforward. she says a lot of things that i agree with, and i love how she doesn't give a crap about what other people think of her.

kind. i think i've been kind my whole life, though there are some pretty mean things i've done. in my opinion, kind is the best thing a person can be and i wish i will be remembered for being kind... i said the word kind too many times and now it doesn't sound like a word anymore... kind. kind..? is that even a real word?

learning. i don't like being forced to read books and study something i'm not interested in. but i'm very curious and sometimes when i want to know more about something, i read whole wikipedia pages and books about the subject.

music. obviously. i've always loved music and i always will.

natural. i personally don't like wearing makeup. i don't think it looks good on me, and i've only ever had makeup on my face once.

organize. i love organizing things, whether it be the drawers in my room or the files on my computer. i love seeing things in order... but if you think my room is always tidy, you couldn't be more wrong.

phone. i literally can't be without my phone. it's become a problem.

quizzes. i do a lot of quizzes and tests on the internet. and i mean personality tests etc. i just think it's super fun.

room. i have tried to decorate my room for years and at the moment i'm quite happy with the look of it. i spend a lot of time in there.

sad. for a few years i was frequently sad, but it's in the past now and i'm a happy person again.

tumblr. lately i haven't been on tumblr nearly as much as i used to. but i've talked to different people from all around the world and made some of the best friends i've ever had on that website. as i said, i'm not using it so much anymore, but if you want to follow me, my url is mantsikka.

universe. i'm fascinated by stars and nebulae and black holes and all that. i just think outer space is beautiful and terrifying and unbelievable and i love it.

vine. who thought that videos lasting only six seconds would be so entertaining?

wanderlust. i have a huge desire to travel the world and see places and experience cultures and meet people.

x i tried searching the internet for words starting with x but i found nothing that i could relate to.

youtube. i'm addicted to it and i'm subscribed to a lot of youtubers. i'm always on my phone watching youtube and spending hours in there.

zodiac. i like reading horoscopes and other things related to zodiac signs. i'm not sure if i believe in the predictions in horoscopes, though.

who am i? the easiest yet the most difficult question to answer. writing an exciting introduction is hard... does anyone really know how to do that?

anyways, i hope you like my first post. here we go!

my name is iina. i was born in november 1997 which makes me 17 years old. i live in finland and i'm a girl.

i made this blog to see if i could keep it updated regularly, and just for fun. i'm not exactly sure what i will post, other than what's going on in my life. i intend to write here once a week. i'll try to keep the posts interesting and different from each other, but my life isn't very exciting so we'll see how that goes.

my grammar is not going to be perfect and my writings will be pretty basic since english is not my native language. but i still want to write in english for many reasons.

i'm planning to put one song in the end of each post. why? because i love music and like sharing it with everyone. i'm going to put one quote on every post, too, for the same reason.

i'll keep this post short, but i'll tell you more about myself some other time.
